. Antilope girl
Last graphic print update! This last one is a quicky I did on the damaged backside of the Graphic Thiefling copper plate. I had no idea what I was going to do so I just stared at it for a while and followed some of the damages and nuances in the copper with my eye. What I saw was a girl, lying in front of bushes, with a big white afro. The horns, dress and trees was just an addition to what was already there.

As I wrote in my previous post, we tried out different techniques in graphic classes. Second technique is called Drypoint. We carved the image with a hard pointed "needle" on copper plates. It's the opposite of Relief printing, meaning the things you carve out will be printed. As if you were drawing with a pen.
This time I came up with a motif without looking through my old sketch books. It's the Thiefling that I also drew later in my Moleskine and showed here.
This time there was more trial printings than with the Relief printing, and I thought it a lot more trickier than the former to. So of course I made a gif with some of the process prints, 'cause we all love animation.

Star signs in streets
My first ever try to film my painting process. This is how I usually draw, and with that I mean randomly and without a concept in mind starting out. It sort of grows as it comes along. If I ever do this again I promise Ill grab a better webcam and a much better video editing program, and mirror it correctly.
The painting is done with ink and white gouache on brownish sketch paper. The star signs over the doors are Ursa Minor and Hercules.

Naked woman and stairs
This is from April something this year, I didnt like it at all at first but are starting to. The stuff I saw as mistakes in the beginning is starting to grow on me (like the very short arm).
It happened during my two hour wait between art school and the Folklore class I was taking at the university. We had model studies in oil every tuesday afternoon, and I was always stuck with the pose of the model behind my retina because of staring at it for three hours straight. So I thought Id see if I could put it down on paper directly from my mind. With a lot of alterations and a background this is the result. Its black pen, with no pre-sketching, in my moleskine.
Autumn in Never Forever
This is a quick paraphrase of one of my favorite album covers of all time: Kate Bush 'Never for Ever'. Nick Price is the man behind the artwork and I advice you to check him out. Phenomenal artist!
My dad, who has great taste in music, had the LP record and Ive always drooled over it. I was a fan after only having seen it on the web but in real life it is so much greater. So recently he decided to sell of his LP collection, and I got to take this jewel home with me. Ive had it in the window in front of my computer desk/dining table since then. When I move it will get a great spot on the wall, its such a huge inspiration in anything concerning art I do.
So one evening I sat down with this black piece of passepartout board and white coal pencils and had no idea what I was gonna draw. I started with the leaves at the bottom with no aim whatsoever and then it just grew from there. The woman and wind was added last, and as you can see her pose is basically directly taken from the album cover.
Its gotten a bit more smudged than I wanted to since then, but I just blame it all on the wind.

Three men
Sometimes my attention span checks out during school lectures. Specially since we have them between 9-11 and Im not fully awake until after lunch. What happends then is I stop taking notes and start doodling instead. I put the heart next to stuff I take a liking to and mean to check up once I get home. I have about 500 hearts in my notes from the past years, and Im superlame at going through them, but one day or week or month (depending on the amount of hearts) I bloody well will.
Stargazing in desert
This is the first trial drawing in my new brownish sketching paper pad. Highly unfinished but I dont think I ever will finish it either, so what the heck. Im being to frickin picky about what I show in my blog either way. Im starting to realise this isnt my portfolio, so I can jabber away and show you guys whatever. Hopefully Ill keep the interest up easier that way.

Bird on commuter train
Same day as I heard they made "fillers" (stuff to make your lips bigger and pouty) out of coxcombs. Breeding roosters with enormous combs, for this purpose only (whats left of the food goes into fodder and shit). I was on the commuter train when I started this drawing. The pose is from an actual lady in the train, the pattern of the seats is on most trains, subways and buses in Stockholm. Otherwise everything is from my brains.

Urban wolfman, Beloved monster & Concerning rooftops
I made these for an exhibition I had with some classmates in spring. The reason as to why I havent shown them is that I never scanned them before the exhibition (I finished Beloved monster the day we were hanging it). And since they've been framed ever since and Im lazy, Ive just forgotten all about them.
Odd creatures and people in Stockholm. I googled references for the city backgrounds. It's ink and a tiny bit of white gouache on aquarelle paper. The last picture is of them hanging on the exhibition.

Sir Cosmatron Spacecat of all Destiny
It's been a few months since I did this, I just havent gotten around to uploading it before. If you have me on facebook you've seen the cover before, but without the fonts and graphics. This was an assignment for graphics class in my last school. First off we had to design a logo for a record company. Mine's called Wild Things inc. and you can see it on the right hand corner on the front (or bottom middle on the back).
Next thing was to pick a genre (punk-cabaré) and an artist name, and since Chris had already given me the outmost awesome name in all of history (Sir Cosmatron Spacecat of all Destiny) I decided to go with that. After that there was an issue of a side-kick, where the obvious choise was my cat Blacko, cause he's been my side-kick since I was about twelve. Possibly Im his side-kick though. Its undecided.
After that it was just a matter of deciding witch format to do the record in (LP, Single, CD), and I chose singlet, which is around 18x18 cm. The finished result is hours of hand drawing, scanning, taking photographs, finding fonts and merging everything together in Photoshop & Illustrator. Then printing it out and putting it on an existing single, with plastic cover, for the right feel.

Catzilla
During my first day of school three weeks ago I realised Id finally need a calendar to keep track of stuff. I used to get them years back but only use them for 2 weeks and then forget they existed. Possibly because I never really needed one back then. But now lots of stuff is going on, and I cant use my untrusty brain to filter them, so wolah. I walked into the first store I saw and got it. Now I love kittens, but the cuteness was overwhelming so I turned it into a Catzilla, wrecking havoc on a city street.
It's still adorable though.
And yeah, now you know how my big toe looks like as well.

Charcoal portraits
Just had my first week at the new art school. Im attending a wood crafts class but we have hours of painting/drawing & sculpture as well. This is from an overnight trip we took to get to know each other. One assignment was sitting in a group sketching each other, I got five done, but these two are the ones that came out best.

Two sketches put together & coloured with Illustrator & Photoshop. It's me & sir Blacko. The scribbles in the left corner is from trying out which pencil to trace with. Kinda looks like I'm saying something so I left it there. I talk in scribbles all the time. Hej = Hello in swedish.
